Do you think Bangladesh is beginning to belong in the test arena?
By , 0 viewsThey won in W indies, giving good fight to India, scared the Aussies when the latter toured there last, are making some noises about sledging and comments from rival skipper. Do you think they are beginning to be part of the show?

There is no doubt they are improving, slowly but surely, but they are a long way off belonging to the test arena. They’ve won two tests against the West Indies, who were fielding a well below par test line up, so that’s no big achievement. However their is no denying their improvement in recent years. It will come for Bangladesh, they just have to wait a little longer

Yes and very well.Bangla boys are making a mark with their good performance and it won’t be long before they start to play well with more “Consistency” in all the matches. The youngsters like Mushfiqur Rahim ,Shakib-ul-hasan are real talented stars for the future of Cricket.
They have in it in them to be a very competitive side.Just the thing required is more Consistency and good guidance.Their performance in this test is very impressive.

They definitely have some good players and showing improvement.
They are inconsistent in batting.A change in their batting order, promoting tjhose in form up,would do them good.

Bangladesh has made a big shift from old player to the young players.if u see u will find that the average age is 22 ,so it is the only problem for bangladesh .Yes as time go they will play more test cricket and learn more .remember now days test cricket almost dried up and its hard for young country to adjust to test cricket without playing much against the best nations .As they get experienced and play lot they will evolve as a good cricket player both in test and in odi

They are just the half way, to that space, if they become bit more consistent and start performing in both the innings, regularly, they would achieve success, they are the 2nd or 3rd team, to gain test status, in my time, if I were to compare them with the other two–S.Lanka & Zim, as seen all 3 perform,in their initial stages—SL also looked weakish team to begin with but had more promising players, in their ranks, so they were ahead of Bangladesh, by all means, team they can give good fight to , is Zimbabwe.
Even Zim had more star players but once the quota policy came into affect, they went kaput, with a captain like Taibu, those stars never performed again & whole team broke off & Bangladesh has beaten them, for their 1st test win and what they achieved in WI, showed that they aren’t the basement team anymore.
They have rightly carried that confidence, against India now & mighty Aussies. Few solid wins, without getting carried away, with the 1st innings performances, like in 1st match, if they played the matches on its merits, rather than feeling good about small achievements, they could very well be on their way to big space, in the test arena, for sure.
