Urbanisation in Bangladesh has led to an increase in impermeable ground (i.e. concrete), buildings and deforestation. Deforestation means there are fewer trees to intercept the water so it reaches the water too quickly. Impermeable land means there is more surface run-off which also means the water gets to the rivers too quickly, increasing the risk of flood.

There are lots of shanty towns in Bangladesh in areas which are particularly prone to flooding so when a flood does occur, they are greatly affected.

Also, you could argue that global warming, caused by humans, is increasing the sea level, meaning flood risks increase.
