how much tax i have to pay if i import a used car in bangladesh for my personal use?
Byi’m living in bangladesh and i want to import a car direct from japan for my personal use. but before that i would like to know the tax percentage for used car and for brand new car as well.

Check with customs. And will it meet US emission standards?

If you have read the current Budget proposal for the FY 2007-08 then you may notice that the reconditioned (used) Car Dealers / Agents have been proposed to get better ‘discount’ to their customers.
You would not get this advantage if you do self-import. This would be the reason for you to import through any local agent / dealer in Bangladesh.
You may save money if you Import new cars since the above mentioned discount is not applicable in that case. However, it is seen that somehow the local agents of the (new) cars could offer better price than the Principal Company would offer you, for obvious reason to keep their D/Ds network intact and functioning professionally.

i am Arif.i am living in chittagong.my father is trying to import a brand new car from japan.but we don’t know how much duties have to pay.so, i kindly request you for sending a “custom charge chart” through my e-mail ID,which can help me to calculate the percentage of brand new and used car of japan.

i am bangladeshi and citizen of austrlia. Currently living and working in Australia. i want to import my used car to Bangladesh due to job transfer to Bangladesh. i do not know procedure and how mu tzx will be?
