how to go to Dhaka, Bangladesh from the Philippines?

I would like to know what is the cheapest way to travel to Dhaka,Bangladesh? I am from the Philippines, I have inquired and was told I have to spend at least 1000 US dollars for the said flight via Singapore any suggestions . I would appreciate any information that will help me save on traveling expenses.

There is no direct flight from Manila to Dhaka, so it’s gonna be expensive since there will be two connecting flights:
1. Manila to Hong Kong via Cathay Pacific (12:30 pm)
2. Hong Kong to Bangkok via Thai Air
3. Bangkok to Dhaka via Thai Air (12:10pm the following day)
The cost is USD1,609 via http://www.expedia.com

Manila to kuala lumpur by cebu pacific P8000 – P9000 roundtrip
kuala to dhaka by airasia $300 – $400 roundtrip
