I was naturally born in Bangladesh and now I am an American citizen. Am I still a Bangladeshi citizen?
ByI am a natural born Bangladesh citizen. I had a combined attached Bangladesh passport with my mother (under her name) since I was only 5 years old. Then when I moved to the United States, I became an American citizen with an American passport after a few years.
Recently, the voting session has ended in Bangladesh. I was wondering if I would be able to vote in the next session in Bangladesh? Do I still maintain my citizenship in Bangladesh? Can I still vote?

No. When you took the oath as a US citizen you renounced allegiance to all other governments.

Doubtful. Once you take the US oath of allegiance to become a US citizen (congratulations btw), you are no longer the citizen of any other country unless that country allows dual citizenship. Check with the laws of your native country for that information.
Does that mean you can vote in that country’s elections? Most likely no.

First of, I’m not sure about whether you can cast your vote in next general election (GE) in 2013/14. However, we saw that this year prior to the GE there were representatives from Bangladesh Immigrants Association living in USA, UK and some European countries who met the Chief Election Commissioner of BD and demanded their right to vote in our GE. The demands were heard and no conclusive assurances were given either by the CEC or the Government of Bangladesh.
Since we saw that Awami League (AL) led alliance won landslide victory of our GE held yesterday on 29th December 2008 it is now expected that Bangladeshi expatriates and others holding dual-citizenship may be allowed to participate in our next GE, since their role in the development of our country has been acknowledged.
I think the BD Embassy in Washington DC may be approached for getting the latest information since they are inundated with such questions on daily basis.
Btw, congratulations on becoming US citizen!

The U.S does not recognize dual citizenship. So, if you are a citizen of Bangledesh, then you probably still are. In the eyes of the U.S Government, you are only a U.S citizen.
