good work….we should not fight here over the language….languages have nothing to do between muslims…we are proud to own more languages than non-muslims.
we were all the same when we rules over india for more than 1000 years….these difference came afterwards of bengla and paki and else else…after all we all are muslims.

No its not a concert the people sitting there are after all human beings, the excitement was shown for a non-national reciting naat in their native language. This very fact created that whole atmosphere. You better take your prejudiced-fitted-glasses off my friend.

So many horrible comments here. I hope the host deletes them. The truth is we must move on from the past and unite. Go back to the history of Islam and you will see how the the staunch enemies of the Prophet SAW during his time converted and lived together them. The same happened throughout history as many other enemies converted and then helped the rise of Islam.

ur mughals did not give us bangla naat, they gave us Pahela boishakh. do you consider that part of your mughal culture nowadays and celebrate? or do u denounce it as part of Bengali culture and despise it? whatever u do, think before you do it.

bangla naat is composed by Bengali poets, what does it have to do with mughals? do you even know that mughal kings did not spread islam in Bengal?! It was spread by Turkic and Persian sunni saints who preached Islam in Bengali language after learning it themselves. Example: Shah Jalal rahmatullahi alaihhi, Khan Jahan Ali Rahmatullahi alaihi, and some say Bayejid Bostami Rahmatullahi alaihi also came to Bengal.

ur personal experience is flawed and grossly misunderstood. Language has no religion. Bengalis are no less educated in Islam than any Pakistani. back biting is an individual sin that is present in all races and culture.discrimination was not carried out by Pakistanis against Bengali speakers?! lol Pakistanis follow bollywood more than Bengalis do you know that? dress is influenced by the geography and climate. What Arabs wear is from pre-Islamic period!

raven, there was no Islam in the context of 1971. dont bring it in. Pakistani army was not defending Islam. if they were then they would not have done it. It was Muslims fighting against Muslims for oppression. Islam is not about religion. It encompassed all walks of our life. Islam has laws addressing marriage, economy, property, relation, justice everything. So one of the side were actually fighting for proper cause, which is supported by Islam. That is the context.

@randominitializer Bengali Muslim culture: talking like hindus, dressing like them, worshipping Kolkata, having poor knowledge of Islam and Muslim culture, lack of honour, backbiting, gossiping and discriminating against non-Bengali speakers and Pakistanis while at the same time worshipping Bollywood and trying to speak hindi…this is East Bengali culture im not going to add the tag of ‘Muslim’ until you stop worshipping Kolkata’s culture
btw i know all this from personal experience

@randominitializer what you’re saying is not inaccurate bro im simply saying you CANT use the word Ghazi in this context since they were fighting to proliferate Islam or defend it…Mukti Bahini fought in defense and thats fine but they werent Ghazis

@randominitializer indiscretions by certain members does not form a culture, it is formed through language, food, traditions and customs, the Turkic dynasties that ruled before ruled as foreigners with contempt for the local Hindu majority, the Mughals believed in integration as it was required to maintain power and keep the peace anyways dont mix politics with culture and I doubt you would have Bangla naats if the Mughals didnt come to Bengal

ravenlord, Bengali muslims follow Bengali muslim culture that does not defy Islam and Quran. now ur mughal culture was never a culture of the Bengalis. Mughal culture meaning what?! 140 concubines used as chess pieces?! mughal culture where the muslim born king invents his own religion?astagfirullah. mughal culture where the king frequently marries hindu women? mughals even wanted to fight against the ottoman and the arab khalifs. do you know that?or are you making up ur own history and talking?

most naats?!:S how many Bengali naats have you listened to?! this is the most ignorant and hateful comment I have ever heard. Bengali naat can move people who understands them more than naats written in any other language. Faster paced musci?! I believe you want people to appreciate the tune of the naat, not the meaning, hence you are making such outrageous comment. why would a Bengali appreciate an urdu naat if he does not understand the meaning of it?! it will sound Gibberish.

you are completely ignorant of the reality and your narrow mind does not go well with Islamic principles. i dont want to start any respect to comment likes yours by replying but u need to be clear on something, that is mukti bahini fought against oppression of the worst kind by munafiks of west pakistan and thus it is struggle on the path of Islam and that’s why they are shaheed and ghazi.Bengalis did not want to divide anything, it was west pakistani atrocities that forced Bengali resistance.

BANGLADESHIS HAVE SHOWN THAT THEY WANT TO FOLLOW THE CULTURE OF THEIR FORMER SLAVE MASTERS IN KOLKATA RATHER THAN MUSLIM MUGHAL CULTURE…they made their choice in 71 everyone else must respect the choice, forget the past and work towards building a future otherwise you will always live like beggars without wealth or pride

@randominitializer bro if u knew the meaning of the word Ghazi, u wouldnt use tht word…GHAZI is having one of the highest honours fighting in the NAME OF ALLAH SWT..mukti bahini fought to divide the world’s largest Muslim country for ONLY BENGALI INTERESTS with complete ignorance of the needs of the common Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi, Kashmiri and Pathan, so my request to u is please dont use words without knowing their meaning

@masumshams, Pakistan army did most atrocity. the thieves and dacoits were the biharis who were siding with Pakistan army. Mukti judhas liberated us from the oppression. Mukti judhas were Ghazi and Shaheed in their jihad against Pakistani oppression. Indian army joined later and they were not involved in atrocity. it’s illogical to say that cause if Indians committed atrocity then they knew they would lose the support of Bengalis which they needed to win the war.
