Bangla Desh ceded from Pakistan ,it was a minor confrontation but the pakistanis used economic strength to starve millions.pop personalities like george harrison raised millions for famine relief etc.

Question asked by Sleuth!: Why is it this type of violence in not happening in India and Bangladesh?
Of late, Pakistan seems to be plagued by violence and fanatism. This is depicted in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto recently.

Why is it the same is not happening in neighbouring India and
Bangladesh? Are they not neighbours?

Of course, I must add India did ever experience some violence. But they are not so rampant as in Pakistan. Lately, there had been no reports of violence there.

What made Pakistan so different?

I mean Bangladesh is a natural enemy of Pakistan right? The 1971 war of independance when the Pakis butchered thousands of Bangla academics and important citizens. Never forgive, never forget?

I work with a Bangladeshi and a Pakistani who are apparently mature enough to realise that they are a new generation of people who have nothing to gain by hating each other.
I wish other people could do that.
