Yes sanitation and the like are 150 to 200 years behind us here in the West .. takes money to invest in the necessary infrastructure , money they don't have .. and not likely to have for a very long time .. So they will remain much the same ... Most of the population don't know any different and would not make the comparisons that you have ... They think it is normal .. Hardly South Asian though are they ?? ..
